Having caller id I did not recognise the number and opened the call. A voice instructed that I had a message waiting and to access it I should press any button. Needless to say I did not and hung up. I will notify friends regarding this ploy.

I got a call from 01189049938 today, if you Google it comes back as a Reading dialling code. The automated call asked for me by name and asked me to press a button. I let it say it all twice then it got bored and hung up. It’s probably a marketing thing.

phoned by this number which does not do 1471 – number unrecognised!!
this number 01189049938 is used by multiple companies to send automated messages. This time it was a local volvo dealership in Glasgow calling to ask me to comment on the service they did on my car recently. It’s annoying so just hang up.
