It is a genuine number for HSBC
I dont think so, because I was called at 11 pm by the number
it is HSBC cold call line, dont answer any question from ANYONE calling you about any bank account, ever. hsbc shouldnt be asking for details on the phone unless you rang them.
These forums are a waste of space because you cannot stop the person who is scamming from posting here saying that the number is genuine, I.E. the person calling themselves RICHARD saying that this is a genuine number is the scammer.
Caller said they were part of HSBC as part of a “review” of the account.
This doesn’t feel right so I’d advise people not to answer the security questions and to decline to be involved.
If you then wish to actually review your account call HSBC yourself so that you know who you’ve called.
I just got called this morning by the number, thank god for these blogs though because i probably would have been dumb enough to give soem details as i just recently applied online for a student account with HSBC.
DONT GIVE ANY DETAILS, HSBC MY ARSE
Keep them on the line as long as possible to cost them as much money as possible.
It says it is HSBC. anyone confirm this ?
