I’ve got three calls from this number today. And Im 13!! Why would Halifax/Bank of Scotland ring me?! I dont even have a credit card or anything! Grr.

I got into debt difficulties with three credit cards and reached the point of no return at end of 2008. I contacted National Debtline for advice and set up a Debt Management Plan with their appointed firm, Payplan. Since January 2009 I have not missed any of the agreed monthly payments based on my budget and their advice. Halifax is the least of the three debts yet the most troublesome. They ring daily from numbers 08456 029441 and/or 08456 037773 sometimes less than a minute apart. There is never anyone there if I pick up so I now ignore them. I am registered disabled and live alone and regard these calls as malicious harrassment. I wrote to Halifax, along with my other two creditors, back in January before I commenced the debt management plan. These credit card firms were happy to keep increasing credit limits, unasked, and claim they are there to help if you run into difficulties. They are not. They are only interested in making threats and harrassing you, presumably in the hope you will go out and rob a Post Office or something to raise more money for them. I have no assets to speak of and can do no more than I am doing.

I received a number of calls from these after being allocated a new phone number. They would not accept that my number had just been issued to me and that the person they wanted is unknown to me.

I made a formal complaint to their customer care dept on
